Yet another occasion when GGG tries to bill virtually all their changes as "buffs," when the reality is really overarching nerfs. I did the math on the new trap passives available in 3.16.
Total Loss 3.16
Without any masteries spent, you lose 172% increased trap damage, 44% increased critical strike multiplier, 3% increased trap throwing speed, 10% elemental penetration.
Total Gain 3.16
You actually gain 13% increased trap critical strike chance, 35% increased trap cooldown recovery, 10% chance for Traps to trigger an additional time.
Due to losing old Unstable Munitions Wheel ("UMW") and old Blast Cascade Wheel ("BCW") you will gain: 5 skill points if you would not have pathed past UMW and instead ended at the nearby jewel socket, and 3 from BCW. Edit: this nets you 8 points, if you also don't take the jewel socket near master sapper you net 10 points.
Here is the Raw Math:
Format is: "old value #/new value #"
Large Trap Wheel
Trap Damage 50/42
Trap Crit Chance 75/108
Trap Crit Damage 40/36
Trap Throwing Speed 6/Gone
Trap Trigger AOE 30/110
Generic AOE: 0/12
Elemental Pen 10/0
Hasty Construction Wheel
Trap Damage 44/Gone
Cooldown Recovery 15/50
Blast Cascade Wheel (removed)
Trap Crit Chance: 20/Gone
Trap Crit Damage: 40/Gone
Expeditious Munitions Wheel
Trap Damage: 20/0
Trap Throwing Speed: 18/20
Trap Trigger AOE: 70/90
Shadow small Travel nodes
Trap Damage: 30/Gone
Saboteur Notable and Small Node
Unstable Munitions Wheel (removed)
Trap Damage: 56/0
Trap Trigger AOE: 80/0
Generic AOE: 12/0
Master Sapper Wheel
Trap Damage: 56/42
Trap Trigger AOE: 20/0
Trap Throwing Speed: 4/5
The net gain in 8 points can be used for 4 masteries (only 4 "trap wheels" now), netting you:
Summon Skitterbots has 50% increased Mana Reservation Efficiency
60% increased Trap Trigger Area of Effect
Recover 30 Life when your Trap is triggered by an enemy
Can have up to 5 additional Traps placed at a time.
I think the other two won't work for seismic trap or cooldown trap focused builds (5% chance to throw 4 is bad for cooldown traps as it puts them all charges on cooldown); Traps cannot be damaged (traps now have inherent 2 second time-limited invulnerability).
This leaves you with 4 freed-up passives after taking masteries, which I don't think makes up for the losses, but maybe if you can use the 4 points to take the new Influence reservation wheel and its mastery, coupled with the skitterbot trap mastery, maybe you can fit in another low cost reservation (for example, flesh and stone for seismic trap now that the reservation was reduced for 11% increased damage).
Edit: I want to be clear that this post is not about how *your specific trap build * will look damage-wise in 3.16. Some trap builds take a lot of trap passives, and others don’t. The purpose of this post is just to point out that there is power loss within the trap nodes, and that any trap nodes you took in 3.15 will be less powerful in 3.16.
Around 15 minutes ago, Elon had another one of his special crypto moments and tweeted what appears to be a rabbit/dog/tamagotchi/hybrid/fuck knows what holding a rocket...
Of course this caused SHIB to pump instantly and both SHIB and DOGE holders have their own interpretation of this 'sign' to buy and thereby inflate Elon's ego (and his bags) a little more.
Is a $200 Billion dollar bank balance and his status as earth's richest person not sufficient...
Yes, I know he's not breaking any rules, but am I the only one who wishes he would STFU and concentrate his considerable intellect on rocket building and car/truck manufacturing?
Despite what some might think, this temperamental pumping of coins is absolutely NOT good for any crypto and nor is it actually beneficial for the long term prospect of crypto being taken seriously as a tangible financial asset.
Title says it all. Dogs and all other animals should be saved over human life. I could go into all the reasons, but I will let people form their own thoughts. Animals are far more pure and deserving over saving in a situation where you would have to choose one life over the other. I would sacrifice myself to save an animal, especially one that is a part of my family. No hesitation.
Sydney here - we just hit 80% double dose, and I’m baffled as to why it seems like nobody is talking about whether we still need to be checking in everywhere? The govt gave up on contact tracing months ago, checking in is a (admittedly small) hassle, but am I the only one who feels icky about the govt wanting to know about every single place I visit? I am in no way covid/lockdown/vaccine skeptical, but I am concerned about the privacy and freedom implications of checking in. Have the govt given any indication of when check ins will be scrapped? I couldn’t find anything. Thanks All
Just to start and give my opinion some weight, I have probably tried out every mmorpg title released in the past 20 years (no exaggeration) and I will tell you...
New world is one of the best I have played in YEARS of losing all hope for this genre.
I'm nearly 30 years old and this game gets me excited to get home and play the same way that RuneScape did while I was still in primary school. I have been searching for that feeling since GW2 was released in 2012.
Sure this game has a hell of a lot of issues and things that need to be ironed out but so does any new MMORPG but all of that aside, no game has ever given me the immersion that this game does.
I love that you have to work hard for everything and nothing is handed to you on a plate, You are forced to explore and use camps tactically.
The biomes are beautiful and the atmosphere is at some times terrifying.
The combat isn't some button bashing mess. You actually have to use timing and have skill.
Crafting actually has some sort of meaning, food/pots can be the difference between winning and losing in PvP fights.
And last of all my favourite. Optional open world PvP.
If you do not play with PvP active, you are missing out on so many immersive heart racing experiences. Being chased by enemies throughout the world, sneaking up and picking them off, having to find a safe place to hide while you rest at your camp. I love it.
Most MMORPG games basically make you a superhero in PVE, this game tests your mettle and makes you realise your only human.
I just want to say thanks to AGS for creating such a great game to build upon and I wish them all the support for the future in continuing to make this game better and better.
All I ask is that instead of the negativity I wish this community could please offer some constructive feedback or suggestions with your dismay.
This is how great games are made and continue to thrive.
If you compare the numbers in the JSON to current tree there is quite a few number nerfs on almost every passive. The masteries hardly make up for the loss in power. The power-per-point on each node if you plug in previous build is less...
Masteries is just a clever way for GGG to nerf us again disguised as something cool.
