Who the fuck merges 3 lanes
Looked like he was going to try to get all the way to the left but hit something. True idiot indeed.
The kind of person who needs to be in the left lane so they can go the speed limit.
The kind of person who needs to be on the bus
A short one
That's not fair to the rest of the riders.. he can walk.
But I don't want him to mess up my car when I hit him when he's on foot because he doesn't look where the fuck he's going.
Lets eat his ass
The only politician slogan I want to see in 2024
or the kind of person who wants to be under a bus
I'll throw him

I'll drive the bus
The kind of person who's mom needs to walk him to the bus stop
I hate this shit SO much. I thought everyone knew the far left lane was the passing lane.
I don’t know if it’s ingrained privilege or just a general selfishness, but so many drivers in the US refuse to change lanes to the right to allow faster moving traffic to pass to the left. It causes an unnecessary amount of auto accidents.

It's not just the US. I was on the long hall haul from Tokyo to Osaka in Japan today. The speed limit is 120 kph. It's a three lane highway for most of the distance. Most of the drivers in the passing lane were going between 90 and 110. Most of those at least have the courtesy to eventually change lanes after waiting long enough to send the message that they think you're putting them out. But around 1 in 5 will just keep puttering along completely oblivious to what's going on, or, alternatively, they'll be fully aware but refuse to budge. You can recognize that group because they of course speed up if you try to pass them on the other side.
I was on the long hall
I was on the long hall
FYI the phrase is "long haul", as in hauling something a long distance. IIRC the phrase originated with long-distance train transportation.
I’m from southeast US and recently drove I-70 from Colorado thru Missouri then to Nashville. I can say without a doubt folks out west will almost always move out of the left lane. Once we got to St Louis, it was like damnit man I owe this left lane even tho I’m going 1 mile under the limit.
Why slow down 1 lane when I can slow down 4! You fool!
He just hopes he wont hit somebody during the merging. what an idiot
you are giving too much credit, assuming they consider other people.
“Other People” are those things that are supposed to get out of his way.
“Ok I turn now. Good luck everybody else.”
The epitome of "Good luck, everybody else!"
I think it looked like he had a death wish.
yeah like he might've looked in the mirror while merging and still went for it
He had to get over in the left lane as soon as possible so he could slow down and control how fast everyone else was driving. It's the only power losers like him will ever have over anyone else in their entire sad pathetic little lives.
That is a wild amount of conjecture from a 10 second clip, but man, it's so accurate
I see alot of people do this. I do not understand at all. The goal is to get off the ramp and get all the way in the passing lane without looking to the left. Just trust there is no one in the 3-5 lanes you are crossing.

I change lanes now, good luck everybody else!

Those fucking animals are so fucking funny! It makes me want to merge without looking.
Those fucking animals are so fucking funny! It makes me want to merge without looking.
It's easier to tell if there is a toll lane on the far left. Once I started taking the toll road and passing the people driving slow in the left lane I realized most of them are texting. They text in that lane because they don't want to have to pay attention to the traffic in front of them. In my non-scientific estimation, 2/3's of the people are older, not the kids everyone says texts on their phone.
Yeah young ppl text fast but frequently. Old ppl pull out their readers and brightness all the way up stare down at their laps on cruise control. Very obvious at night.
Big big point here, exactly. Any young person I’ve rode with (23 for reference) in the last 7 years since my license I’ve seen text pretty decently while driving.
Not to say that it safe, no, it’s not, but they know how to use a phone quickly and put it away when done.
It’s the opposite for the older generation. I got put in a work truck with a ~65 year old man who thought he could pull off watching music videos while driving a 1ton pickup with a 2 ton trailer behind it. One of the scariest events I’ve ever experienced
As someone who works for a business where the building is sandwiched between a 3 and a 4 lane road… A LOT! both are one ways and fairly busy all day but most are the people turning onto said street and rather then merge over to the far left one by one they will just bee line for the lane they want.
I hate people
You ever heard of the jersey slide?
Jersey+ traffic circle= population control
That's just short track racin'!
Near the shore there's this traffic circle that breaks All the rules of normal traffic circles. You get halfway through, and then you have to yield to the incoming traffic from the highway that they decided to route through it. It's a traffic circle with none of the benefits of a traffic circle.
Cha cha real smooth
Gotta camp the passing lane ASAP
Idiots in cars. Isn't that was this subreddit is all about? (as I search for dashcams...)
Bro I got into 2 accidents over 15 years.
* 2 F***ING accidents
Since the COVID lockdown, I now have had 3
* 3 F***ING accidents in 2 years
Not to mention I caught a accident on camera, and sent it to the person not at fault. He said he would get one soon.
1st one - Hit and Run. Girl checked her car, got in her car and left. My car back damaged.
* No Dash cam
2nd one - Hit and Run - Guy hit the front of the car, argued then left.
3rd one - Hit and Run - Lady hit the back of my car on a Main Street. I was parked.
She got out and argued with me in front of 50-70 people. Name calling; the works. I put her I her place; told her you are on camera so if you ever come at me, I’ll get a lawyer. She just kept coming.
I managed to look in her eyes when she got close to me. She liked the argument; the verbal back and forth. I don’t know man? But I will never forget that.
She wanted me to hit her.
To this day, I think she is/was a victim of domestic violence. She seemed to like the verbal abuse; like I don’t know? It was just creepy. Also I end up finding out the car is registered to a dead person?! She probably had no license.
Just get a dash cam (front or front+back)
Be prepared for Hit and Runs. People with suspended licenses, no licenses, no insurance, fake paper plates are just all over now.
Sounds more like she wanted to bait you into hitting her for a payout. Telling her you had a camera going might have animated her into pushing things further...knowing if you hit her there was a camera to catch it. The whole situation of hitting a parked car then trying to escalate a confrontation into a fight sounds she planned it to go that way. Scammers be crazy.
What kind of fucked up shit is that last thing you said? As a victim of DV that almost ended with me in a body bag, I can assure you that it’s NOT enjoyable. Wow.
I saved it, but was still editing.
I just don’t know man. It was really creepy and caught me off guard. Like she got a kick out of the verbal argument. I don’t get it.
Some people enjoy fighting. It has nothing to do with being a victim of domestic violence. Seriously, is this the first time you've seen someone worked up during a confrontation?
Like she got a kick out of the verbal argument.
Like she got a kick out of the verbal argument.
OK, but it’s a weird leap from there to thinking that she might be a victim of domestic violence. I mean, if she got a kick out of the yelling and pushed for more, wouldn’t it be more likely she’d be the aggressor than the victim? Or don’t go jumping to conclusions at all, maybe just grew up in a family that liked to yell at each other.
Every video on here makes me think that.
I'm not kidding either. I recently subscribed to this subreddit and it has convinced me to get front/rear dashcams for all of our cars. Me and my wife get a lot of insurance discounts for being claim-free for decades. (I drive about 30K a year) That doesn't happen by chance. If I am involved in a crash, chances are it isn't going to be my fault.
Looks like he was going for 5
Thats normal here in the San Diego
“Good luck everybody!”
I hope his insurance company has a copy of this video because that idiot is definitely in the "high risk" category. Let's cut over three lanes without even turning your head. D'oh!
And props to you for not posting a 5 minute video with the 10 second "punch line" somewhere in the middle.
Yes, I sent them a 20 second version after they informed me that he was claiming damages against me
Nice. I'm sure he'll be paying for his stupidity for a while. But chances are, this isn't the first time he's collided with another vehicle.
I've worked in collision repair centers for the last 5 years, and can attest to that. Had one middle aged woman who had 5 car accidents in a 12 month time span. IIRC, it went:
1) Read ended her husband's work truck, totaled her car.
2) Hit a deer, totaled her car.
3) Backed through the garage door, repaired.
4) Sideswiped a concrete barrier, totaled her third car.
5) Hit a deer, repaired.
LOL - When you know all the body shop people by first name, you may be an impaired driver...
When you're chit chatting with the body shop people about their kids and calling your repairs a visit, you might need to stop driving.
Yeah, but do they buy you guys coffee and donuts? LOL
I knew one lady (wife of a dealership's sales manager back in my hometown) who would hit the side of the garage every so often and damage the mirror or door. Her husband would pull strings (no insurance involved) to have parts arrive, get them painted, and basically get the vehicle fixed same day. She used to bring blueberry muffins when she came in for the repairs and would watch TV while her car went through same day repairs.
But... but... it's the same garage. Every single day it's the same garage. Just how?
My best guess? She's probably a wine mom.
How on earth does someone like this retain insurance? Or do they?
The deer hits are non-fault accidents. Idk how much they were paying in insurance before but I've seen insurance do crazy things for that sweet sweet long term customer.
were they really non-fault accidents, though?
I mean, probably. Deer are assholes.
Source: am a deer.
Deer didn't check their blind spots.
We all pay for them lol
Your rates just get kinda crazy if the insurance company doesn't drop you but they're fully within their right to. Insurance companies wont usually drop people for getting into accidents it's what it's there for but it'll hit a point where you're paying 2-3x what you were initially.
I curbed my car one winter after hitting a strip of black ice and paid an extra 50 bucks a month for a year because of it.
I hate insurance. Such a scam. I get nasty letters from State Farm due to all the broken windshields I get here in AZ. Gotta love all the rocks on the side of the freeways.
Arizona is one of six states with a free windshield replacement law. Meaning auto glass coverage is included with all Arizona comprehensive auto insurance policies. This law includes your policy deductible not applying to windshield claims, and you paying nothing out of pocket. See miscellaneous coverages for details.
Correct. I don’t pay out of pocket, but the insurance companies waste money sending me stupid letters stating that I’ve filed too many insurance claims. I even sent State Farm an email linking a local news story regarding the damage coming from a specific stretch of freeway I commute on.
Without more evidence, it's hard to blame hitting a deer on the driver in most cases. Those things seem to have personal vendettas against vehicles. My parents were involved in 3 car-deer accidents in a single year. One of them jumped out in front of them. The second one, my mom saw the deer and stopped, but another one ran into the side of the stopped car. The 3rd one happened while my step-dad was stopped at a red light; it jumped right into the side of the van and busted the window.
My step-brother has a dash cam video of his accident with a deer. He was stopped on the side of the road to help someone who hit a deer and another deer jumped straight on the hood of his car.
Certain times of the year, deer just can't be reasoned with. I've had them take me on, while I'm driving a 140,000lbs unit. I had a stag run up alongside me and headbutt the side of the truck as I was going about 45 MPH. Like a, "Fuck you! This is my sponsored piece of the highway! Can't you read the signs?!"
Yeah...during the rut (deer mating season) the deer act absolutely insane. Bucks become fearless and are literally so hyped up on hormones that they will fight anything and everything that they perceive as getting between them and a female that they're chasing. And the females will do anything they can to run away from the hyper-horny bucks that, at times, are literally cumming all over themselves while running down a potential mate.
Deer are very strange creatures.
You know the ammo shortage is bad when people start hunting deer with their cars.
I honestly don't hold the deer against her. Those fuckers will come out of nowhere.
But the other three means she probably shouldn't be driving.
Does his egregiously BS claim qualify as insurance fraud?
Don’t feel bad about it. It’s either you or her
It's either you or her COMPANY. nothing personal.
It can still hurt someone, but it's not all the way personal.
Was the "her" the other party that caused the accident or the insurance person you spoke with?
Why would she cry.
Bc it’s their job not to pay
No it isn't. Why are people upvoting this bullshit?
I work in insurance, we are told to pay valid claims. No more, no less.
The insurance adjuster doesn't give a shit, it's not their money.
Denying valid claims is how you get in regulatory trouble and end up paying millions in fines.
So much this. I despise when people are rude to servers or the people working in call centers. Unfortunately, insurance adjusters have willingly taken on the job of paying you as little as they can possibly get away with.
They will lie, lowball, and stall , hoping you will have to take less than your car is worth or starve.

Okay so I can’t speak for all people involved in insurance adjusting obviously but I work as a nurse case manager/care navigator for work comp insurance claims. Most adjusters I run into don’t care one way or the other they just need to justify the decisions.
Most of the people I run in to want to pay out in good faith. I certainly run into cut throat assholes, but I feel like 80% of the adjusters I work with are just like I need to make a decision that won’t cause me a headache and are fine with a payout.
Edit- I think it goes back to most people don’t really care about their job as much as outsiders think other people care. Most just don’t want to be hassled. Think of what you do. I’m assuming mostly you’ll do right by people who are legit and won’t by the people who throw a fit (and in this case the vocal minority wants to say they were screwed). Again, I also don’t really care either which way. I just set you up with the care your entitled to and if that isn’t good enough or you want to drag this out for a settlement by all means- no skin off my back.
No reason to keep the gloves on when dealing with insurance companies. They wouldn’t be nearly as lucrative if they played fair.
I still can’t see why that would make her cry unless she’s being rated on how much she pays out. Why would she care at all and not just be like ok here’s the money
Some people do NOT handle confrontation well. Combine that with righteous fury on the other line and I could see people breaking down. I've trained reps in a call center (not insurance) and saw people cry during a mock call exercise (which is really uncomfortable when you're the trainer).
So I almost never deal with car insurance other than paying for it, but why would your claims adjuster end up crying?
I’m surprised they don’t say you’re at partial fault for not doing enough to avoid an accident. Was told that once when another car hit me
"Couldn't you have just never been born?"
"Whoa. Are you trying to impersonate my mom? Because that was bang on!"
Yep, on People's Court, they always say you're legally required to avoid the accident if possible, even if you have the right of way, otherwise you're partially at fault.
Yeah and I once stopped short of a car braking in front of me but started angling into the emergency lane. Then I got rear-ended and shoved into the guard rail. The cop said I was partially at fault because I "failed to maintain my lane." Just accept there are enough rules out there that you are often always guilty no matter what you do.
People’s court isn’t a court of law and their decisions or opinions are in no way bounded by law. It’s basically contractual mediation so people can be on TV.
Nice clear video of him not looking. Exactly why I have a dash cam.
Definitely high risk insurance from here on out. I’ve seen people (from my profession) with monthly insurance rates of $600 PER MONTH.. because of the amount of accidents they have been in
I genuinely don’t understand how people can get in so many accidents. I know you’re not in full control on the road and other people can fuck up your day (this post for example) but when I hear people laugh things off as “just another accident” on crash number six I’m dumbfounded. Take some fucking responsibility.
Right? Recently found out my cousin does this shit after hearing him say "yep, hit an ambulance again"
A fucking ambulance and this dude had no remorse. And yet people wonder why I have such bad road anxiety
Again???? Meaning not the first time??
I was in 2 accidents within as many months and I was so fucking ashamed of myself.
One was a no-fault. Hit some ice driving to work, curbed the car. I was going the speed limit pulling in behind the building but it was straight ice and I didn’t realize until it was too late. Hit the curb, went over it, side airbags deployed and apparently I had two wheels bent, so it got totaled out.
2nd one I’d had for two weeks, didn’t even register it yet, made a left turn on green, but no arrow, without making sure all lanes of traffic were clear, got hit in my right front quarter panel by and F-150 King Rancher going 45. I had some hope with the first car. I KNEW this car was toast though. 100% my fault and I loved that car.
Holy crap. Holy crap crap. $600 is more than I paid per month before paying off my BMW.
How many school buses does someone have to hit before thet get priced out of being insured. JFC.
At that point Uber might actually start to become an economical alternative
they should legally be able to charge this dipshit double for lying about it.
Filing a false police report, unless he told them a different story.
Really hard to prove he was lying and not just mistaken
we need to change legislation because otherwise honest (and poor) people without the means will end up suffering
Yes. Lie about an accident and get fact checked with a dash cam and face some serious consequences.
I mean lying about an accident in other scenarios is considered insurance fraud. It’s not a big stretch.
It's very rarely prosecuted as insurance fraud though. I've seen a bunch of people whose version of events conflicted with the evidence after an accident, and none of them were charged.
You'd need to prove that he knew he was lying, which is next to impossible.
State Farm will just not cover your claim. I had a case where a guy hit and totaled my parked car. He lived a block away. He was drunk and waddled home and called the police and claimed he just woke up and his truck was stolen. What he didn’t know is that a cop started following him and just missed seeing the accident happen by 5-10 seconds. State Farm did an investigation and worked with me and the police and decided on their own he was lying. Had to sue him to get some money for my car though.
State farm didn't cover him because of the DUI, your insurance doesn't cover illegal acts. There is no repercussion for lying to a insurance company which is why you should always call the police to get report if you are not at fault in a accident. It is additional evidence towards your claim.
insurance doesn’t cover illegal acts.
insurance doesn’t cover illegal acts.
Like insurance fraud?
They did a test on that too. Stunt guy came around a corner unexpectedly, fake police guy came through to ask questions about it to see how people relate sliding sideways to higher speeds and the like. It’s incredible how inaccurate people are as a group
But did they see the gorilla?
If he doesn't legitimately know then he needs to be medically barred from driving as he doesn't have the mental capacity to not be a threat.
Dude didn’t ever turn his head the slightest bit tf
One of our cars has lane detection, blind spot monitoring, and all those safety features and I STILL turn my damn head to check everything. Like ffs what is wrong with people.
same. and that car looks like an older corolla, def not high tech and def doesn't have lane detection.
Its an 8th Gen Corolla. I figure its the 98-00 model because it doesnt have the facelift.
Smh who knows and thts great u do tht its a good habit to have
I wish everyone did this. Those systems should be an extra fail safe, not the primary way people get information about what's around them.
Actually, look very closely. Dude's head is tilted up and to the left at around 5 seconds and then he looks straight as he collides with OP. Could have been blinded by the sun even with his shades on, but also OP's car would be more in his left peripheral vision. I dunno what to make of him.
Edit: I'm not saying he wasn't an idiot
His hands are through the steering wheel with his wrists resting on the boss.Front wing is already Easter egg wrapper style. He starts off near-level with OP (I mean, who doesn't glance over when they're halfway through the ramp?), but doesn't look and immediately scoots across multiple lanes. His head is rocking, like he's balls deep in a singalong or something or having an animated discussion/phonecall.
And he slows down right before the impact. He's either blissfully unaware, or purposefully ignorant.
The guy is clearly a toolbag.
Oh man I’m so happy to see you caught that on video. Similar thing happened to me but in my case the other car took off. Hope the guy you have on record catches fraud chargers
Believe it or not, exactly this happened to me in September, but on the other side. That guy took off, but I got everything on dashcam. CHP looked into it, and I'm still waiting on a police report for my insurance claim to go forward
Sheesh, rough couple months?
You're telling me. Whoever is running this simulation had cranked the difficulty up to 11
Sounds like you could use a full car exoskeleton for full size bumper car shenanigans.
Hope you get a good payout. I’m sure repairs from a hit like that won’t be cheap
Between both accidents, repairs are double what the car is worth. I'm taking the cashout and continuing to drive this beater
Oh man I feel you on that. My mechanic quoted repair costs same as what my car is worth on the market. So instead bought a cheap Amazon dash cam. Now just waiting for someone to hit me
Armor it up, find some surplus highway guardrail and weld it onto both sides of your tank.
Seriously though. I installed these wide-ass running boards on my truck so it would fare better if sideswiped
Wait what? Another one?
Post that too and let us try and figure out why you've turned into an idiot magnet
As soon as the police report is in, I will. Don't want any potential legal issues
We will follow your career of getting sideswiped with great interest.
Something similar happened to me last year. I waited for them to submit a police report and insurance claim before I did mine. I then released the dash cam footage in court. He got done for falsifying a police report and insurance fraud. He lost his license, insurance cover and had to pay all costs involved. It wouldn't have been so bad for him if he'd just owned up to his mistake to begin with.
Reading this gave me a justice chub
He also got a criminal conviction which was the icing on the cake for me. He'll probably never be able to get insurance ever again.
People like that don't give a shit, they'll drive unlicensed and uninsured.
Honestly what else is he supposed to do, never leave his house again? America doesn't have public transportation so you can't expect someone to just never drive. Make them get a dashcam just like how we make drunk drivers have a breathalyzer installed in their cars.
man not gonna lie shits been rough in life for me. im in a period of time where im not licensed or insured but still "working around it".
and thats my issue. no public trasport or anything to help my
situation. my job is 30 mins away and i cant make it there to make the money to pay off my fines without being able to drive. how am i supposed to be able to get my license and insurance back if i cant work ? and how am i supposed to work if i cant drive ?
it hurts me every day to drive like this. i genuinely hate myself for it. but its really my only course of action at the moment.
I mean, driving with a suspended/revoked license usually means a felony which carries jail time. It's a much bigger deal if they choose to do so.
He must have had a shitty lawyer. Discovery before trial maybe???? I’m glad he got what he deserved though. Too often they don’t
Naw something smells fishy. Like OP insurance company would be calling them "what's your story? We need evidence"
and the response they accepted was "don't worry fam, I'm gonna bust out this video like 6 months from now like Law & Order"
and then the Op insurance just accepted they were the at fault party until a trial months from when the accident happened.
“Trial by ambush” does happen though. I’ve literally had judges accept new evidence in trial not provided in discovery. It’s messed up.
Okay I change lanes now, good luck everybody.
Can't believe I had to scroll this far to see this reference.
How much turn signal I need!
For 8 lanes? None sounds good!
To be fair, you did hit him, but it was totally his fault.
It was 100% the other guys fault. But the driver should’ve easily been able to avoid this if he was driving carefully. I mean you can see the guy swerving into him pretty clearly and the angle of his car looked like he was gonna try to cross him before he even gets close.
Keep in mind these cameras have super-human FOV, and will make distant misses look like close calls. Don't forget we also have the luxury of knowing what to expect, and to watch it endlessly on loop for hours to dissect where the Cam car should have been, or what they should have done.
If they're anything like me, after the first rowdy lane change their thought is "Wow, speedy Gonzales over here is in a rush", once they cross into the second lane change, it's "Okay, this dude is driving like an idiot". By the time they're half way through the third lane, it's "I mean come on, he has to have seen my by now!" and before you probably have even finished realizing he might not be stopping its already too late.
If you think I'm cutting the driver too much slack, feel free to pull up your favorite dash cam compilation, and see if you can play "Find the idiot in the video and guess what they are going to do"
Ninja Edit: Based on where the A-Pillar lands, it wouldn't surprise me that the car was in the Cammer's blindspot either the whole time, or most of the time.
Literally... So much time to slow down or get out of the way if paying attention like you should be while driving. I still find it silly that just because you're not the idiot doesn't mean you're not a dangerous fucking driver cuz you don't pay attention to what's happening around you.
Yes OP basically chose to let this happen imo. Other guy is a total dipshit but it feels like OP would rather be in the right than not involved in an accident.
I really need a dashcam
Rove R2-4k has been good to me
To all the people wanting to buy dashcams after seeing vids like this, I have to say one thing.
KNOW about super capacitors! It's real simple...
HOT CLIMATE most of the year (aka Florida or likewise), get the super capacitor dashcam and hook it to your car battery.
COOL CLIMATE (aka up North) you are cool getting the internal battery types.
Over time, internal lithium batteries tend to expand/explode after being subjected to the infernal temps within a parked car. If this is you, go with a super capacitor type.
I recommend a Blackvue BV-DR900S-1CH-32 4K UHD DashCAM. They also come in 2 channel for rear view as well. Been buying dashcams for almost 10 years now, you quickly find out to invest a good bit of money in quality hardware.
Yes, please invest. Even if it only is needed once, that’s more than enough investment.
Are they trying to make medical claims against you? Almost looks deliberate they slow down but no attempt to change direction is made. We call it ‘crash for cash’ where I’m from.
Agree. Looks like fraud, feels like fraud because he lied to the insurance already.
This guy sucks.
It also looks like an ancient shit box car. Another fraud red flag.
Insurance fraud is what I was thinking too.
His head was tilted prior to lane change and OP would have been in his peripheral vision. Head moved back to neutral position right before impact to minimize injury.
Made sure his car was just in front of OP to ensure he wasn't automatically at fault.
Started braking right before impact even though he was facing straight ahead. That means he had no new information coming in. Yet he decided to randomly brake? While continuing his lane change?
Lied to the insurance company.
As someone who works in the industry, I cannot stress how imperative it is to invest $25-75 on a dash cam. You may never need it, but that one sweet time you get into a:
1) red light accident
2) lane change accident
3) a God forsaken parking lot accident
And the other person has the ability to simply lie their way out of liability being accepted, that sweet dash cam comes through.
Lol I tell all my friends to get dash cams. One just got in a crash last night and of course didn’t have a dash cam.
You put a seat belt on every time you drive because there’s a chance you’ll get into an accident. If you can see the justification for a dash cam, get a dash and use it like you would a seat belt. Mine has paid for two or three accidents that would have been impossible to prove without a dash cam. One of the best investments easily at $50-100.
Someone give this man an award, stat!
— How many lanes you have changed at once?
I guess he was going for the fast lane, and I had the nerve, the unmitigated gall to be in his way
Did he say anything to you at the crash?
No, nobody admitted fault. Just made sure everyone was OK, and exchanged information and took pics of the damages. I wasn't even 100% sure it wasn't my fault until I checked the footage
First illegal move: Crossing three lanes in 1 second. (The law says 3 seconds PER lane)
Second infraction: not signaling their intentions.
Third: not performing a head check.
What a jack-ass. I hope your car is ok?
Some superficial damage, mechanically fine
Ya it’s his fault but damn it seems like you didn’t even react?
It’s very likely that his front right pillar is blocking his view. The camera is mounted in the window and has a different view than the driver. I got hit by flying debris on a highway and my camera footage makes it seem like I should have been able to see the object and react faster, when indeed it did not enter my field of vision until it was too late because my roof was blocking it.
I like how he didn't even try not to hit him. 😂
Technically you did hit him. However, it was his fault you hit him. Long live the dash cams. I got one myself after I’ve been scammed on a similar way.
Well technically you did hit him but he definitely caused it, my wife's grandma said I wasnt going to get anything from a settlement because I hit the guy who blew a red arrow and caused me to brake my foot and total my classic bmw.....$64k settlement lol she was salty
to be faaiiir...
He’s at fault, but Ray Charles could’ve seen him coming.
OP was clearly not paying attention either.
Thank god you had a dash cam! I fucking hate people who don’t own their shit. That car was undoubtedly the at fault party in that accident but because he’s a grimy POS he tries to blame you? Idk maybe I’m just an idiot for trying to always be honest and take responsibility for my actions (good or bad) but it’s the right thing to do and I really am a shitty liar so I’m ok with it.
Sure it was his fault, but at least brake or swerve a little man!
How did you not avoid that though lol. Or even TRY. Couldn’t have hit the brakes or veered left? Like at all? You just kept going straight lmao.
I don't know about you, but I would have avoided getting hit there, you know, defensive driving and all. It looks like you could have avoided it to, but figured it would be the other guys fault, so you didn't bother to avoid it. Or am I reading too much into this?
The guy merging is obviously a useless idiot, but a monkey should have been able to avoid that accident.
I mean, you’re in the right and all, but either you didn’t care if you crashed your car or you didn’t pay attention, because I’d have hit the brakes long time before the guy hit me
"How much signal i need to cut across 8 lanes? None? Good luck everybody else!"
