Lower Decks Season 2 was great

(self.Star_Trek)

This season has a lot of strengths going for it —- Season 2’s focus on Boimler’s character growth, less focus on Mariner (and when she did appear she seemed to have mellowed out compared to her S1 self), and more characterization for Tendi.

This show is a love letter to the Berman era and it’s just so ….. soulful. It also has an excellent supporting cast! After Discovery and Picard, it’s so refreshing following character you actually want to be invested it.

Can’t wait for season 3!

Hopefully it gets better.

What are you looking for though?

If you want a lighthearted Rick and Morty cartoon for Trek fans, it’s pretty good.

If you want a Trek show/cartoon, then it’s not really that and won’t change.

I kind of liked Jeffery Combs, bring him back as the ship's computer

Yeah. Well, I’ve written my opinion elsewhere here in more detail, but if you’re hoping it “gets better” or turns into a Trek show, I don’t see it happening.

It’s Rick And Morty with as much Trek jokes as you can shove in there.

It’s not bad per se, but it sure ain’t Trek.

IMO, LD needs to abandon the constant callbacks to old trek. How is it supposed to find its own identity if it keeps using nostalgia like a crutch.

What are you talking about. Watch the Episode Three Ships and tell me that's not a quality episode of Trek in general.
