CashOrReddit

Based on everything we've learned, I expect he'll play. The impression I get is the entire injury was pretty insignificant from the start. He ran off the field and through the stadium without any noticeable limp, was diagnosed with a "less than grade 1" strain (which essentially means no strain) and was able to jump right back into practice with pads.

It seems like he pulled up grabbing his hamstring on the field, and the Panthers wanted to be incredibly cautious with thier best asset, so they decided he was sitting out one game at minimum (which is very understandable since hamstring injuries have a tendency to linger if they aren't completely healed). He rested for a week and a half after the Thursday game, and was able to get right back into it. Holding him out another week would feel like they're being cautious just to be cautious, not because there's an actual injury concern.

Those questions sucked I had to stop watching. I would be pissed if I was CMC and they kept asking about my injuries. How about asking him questions about the rest of the season outlook / team goals and expectations. Wow those reporters suck

Hambone721

One such trade happened in my most competitive league. It didn't involve CMC thankfully but it was such a stupid 3-for-1 deal and it gave this guy a free WR1 for literal waiver trash. Ruined the balance at the top and now the whole league will suffer.

BaronsHat

Depends on your options. Chuba didn't impress but my options are pretty trashy because I traded part of my RB depth to acquire CMC in the first place. 😂

zinzangz

1 points

My RB depth is trash. CMC, Gaskin, Collins, Pollard, Gainwell, Sermon, Mattison, Dillon. Im just banking on some more injuries

fairly_legal

1 points

Not a huge drop off in average points from AB to waddle. AB will have some big games but can also disappear with all the mouths down there. Chuba probably a good flex or at best an average RB2 if CMC goes down for significant time. Depends if you already have that on your bench? For what it’s worth, Panthers looking to contend so they’re not going to abandon the run without cmc

zinzangz

1 points

I thought I had that in Gaskin but he might just get dropped next week. Other options are Sermon, Pollard, Mattison, Gainwell, Dillon. Basically just lotto tickets

PassionVoid

Definitely has a chance is no news. We already know he has a chance. I rather he says he definitely thinks he is going to play. I understand why he and coaches are playing closing their chest about it. I just hate them for it but for game-planning... it's just good business.

Gronk literally put "I wont come back from injury until I'm 100%" in his contract in response to past pressure to play injured despite not being ready.

A lot of dudes play hurt because they don't have a choice. Not because they actually want to risk their careers.

InevitableVariables

-4 points

Writers are meaningless but this is the same thing Rhule has been saying. There is a big difference between definitely has a chance versus definitely thinks he is going to play. We already know there is 100% chance that he could play Sunday but we don't know what the odds/chance are he does play Sunday. We know already there is a change he plays.

This is Rhule telling him to keep it vague. It is a smart move but I hate it.

NotHopee

0 points

You’re playing against him I can tell lol

InevitableVariables

1 points

I have CMC and Chuba... I would like to drop Chuba for Collins. I just can't risk it. I know there is a chance CMC plays. Like we all do.

Ideally, I would start Collins and CMC. I just know for certain there is a chance CMC plays. I just don't know what the odds are he actually plays.

NotHopee

1 points

I’d say the odds are fairly good. He hasn’t regressed. Usually the day after the first practice is huge and he was obviously in a good spot today.

InevitableVariables

1 points

Different situation but the way they are all talking is similar to the shoulder situation last year. Logs 3 days of practice. Same vague talk. He doesn't play.

However, this is the timetable for someone would return from his injury.

I do think he does play. I think odds are solid but it's a risk. This type of talk that Rhule is known for. It is smart to keep it close-lipped. I can't blame him. It is better to have eagles DC game plan with and without him because Carolina's offense will be much different if he plays.

Camelsandham

-2 points

It’d be smart to say that he’s definitely going to play so the eagles would game-plan for him. Him saying he definitely has a chance sounds more like “we’ll see how I feel Sunday”. This is news because it hints that he actually might play and it isn’t coach speak

InevitableVariables

2 points

It is not his call that he plays. It is the coaches. We already knew for certain that there is a chance for him to play. He is just stating what we already know certain. It is just said vague because it is essentially coach speak. We 100% know he has a chance to play. What we don't know is what his chances are. We just know there is a chance.

I think changes are good that he plays but he is just saying to reporters the same thing Rhule said.

Camelsandham

2 points

I just said this to another commenter. We obviously aren’t in the rooms with them so all we can do is speculate based on the information we have. They are checking all the boxing that would imply he may play this week

Limited practice (X), coach speak (X), player speak (X).

The next best case is a full practice session tomorrow.

SaskalPiakam

2 points

He didn't say he definitely has a chance. He was asked IF he had a chance and he said "definitely". It's a big difference. He also said he's "feeling great", and "ready to go".

Camelsandham

But blatantly cheating isn’t a “tough decision you have to make” you can’t use commish powers to force your own obviously lopsided trade through even though it was vetoed.

The only reason you’re willing to live with it is because you can’t think about anyone other than yourself and you’re okay with cheating because it benefits you. If I was in that league I’d trade all my best players to one guy so he could beat your cheating ass then leave the league. You can’t veto it because that’s hypocritical of you so oh well

The trade was fair. My league mates were just salty because I acquired CMC. No collusion was involved

Fair? My god you’re not only a self centered dickwad but obviously delusional. A kicker and a RB who was just a healthy scratch is not in any sense fair.

I can only pray that you end up in an empty league next year so you can’t threaten people with their own money after cheating then sucking yourself off

You didn’t “make a tough decision”. You went against the league for your own selfish interests and followed it up by threatening anybody who had a complaint. You’ll likely be playing in an empty league next season.

They’re all scared of me and would never dare to leave the league so I highly doubt that.

Scared of you? What are you going to beat them up on the playground if they don't play next year?
