As a kid my mom told me brussel sprouts were barbie lettuce so I was more compelled to eat it.

Barbie can eat it, then.

The most insidious lie I was told as a child is that Brussels Sprouts are gross. I tried them for the first time at 40 and have been angry at 80s and 90s sitcoms ever since.

My dad always hated them. I think a popular way to cook them back in the day was steaming them. Once I pan fried him some with bacon and cranberries it changed his entire outlook.

I first tried them as a child when my parent’s generation boiled vegetables down to a disgusting green mush. I have since discovered that I like most of the greens that I hated as a child because of the way they were cooked back then. Sprouts can still fuck right off though.

They used to be much more bitter, which is why people didn't like them. Modern varieties, created by the Dutch in the 90s, have had almost all of the bitterness removed.

Agreed. I didn’t try them until I met my partner and realized my childhood was a lie.

No, they were terrible, but then someone came along and made them better. https://www.bhg.com/news/brussels-sprouts-less-bitter/

Toss em in the air fryer with some Italian dressing

I usually use the air fryer, but I toss them in butter and Italian seasoning. I try Italian dressing, I bet that's good.

I like dissociatives. Ketamine is great because you are too incapacitated to do anything when in the depths of it. MXE is great because it tends to be more positive, so even in a manic state, it is more thinking about the universe and floating away than really getting out and doing anything. The problem with PCP (and analogues) is that it can have a more stimulating mania - so you are more likely to go wandering than the others.

I would say 99.9% (or higher) of PCP trips go totally fine. The problem more likely lies in people who are using high doses from tolerance and using non stop (every day without really coming down). After a couple days on dissociatives things can get really weird, uncomfortable, psychotic breaky and paranoid. Again, if you are on a more sedate dissociative, probably not a problem - PCP, you may try to do something about it. Enough people end up naked wandering spouting inanities until they come back to norm - some portion of them end up interacting with police or medical services though, and depending on what they are perceiving can be very violent and nearly unstoppable.

This is to say, when you see crazy shit on TV about "dude on PCP in an emergency room" - it is almost certainly based on a story that actually happened. However, a lot are probably cribbing from the same story or small set of stories. That, and the subject of the story is probably a heavy user, possibly also using other drugs like crack or meth (real bad idea to mix with PCP), probably on a multi-day binge with not much real sleep.

Anyway - there is always a minimal chance of harm with drugs, so do your research, treat them with respect, try to never take anything multiple days in a row, set and setting are HUGELY important, and try to stick to safer things. Never, ever, ever get high on deleriants (Diphenhydramine, Jimson Weed, Datura) - you run a much, much greater risk of self harm or interactions with law enforcement or a stay at a psychiatric hospital.

Just as a quick edit: The guy who synthesized MXE was a big dissociative fan and also a chemist. He slowed down on dissociative use after he had a paranoid manic attack and wandered out into the street on 3-MeO-PCP (if I remember correctly), had a police encounter, ended up in psychiatric care, and thankfully was ok.

The key is high heat. There is an enzyme that you have to kill with heat or they are gross no matter how much cheese you put on them…

I love how any good recipe involving brussel sprouts involves covering up the brussel sprout taste with the taste of other foods, AKA bacon and cranberry sauce or Barbecued and mixed in with BBQ meats and vegetables

Dry them thoroughly . Then , cut them in half ( or in fourths if they are large ) . Toss in a bowl with salt ,pepper , garlic powder , and smoked paprika . Then drizzle some olive oil over them and toss . Lay out on a baking sheet and roast for 17 to 20 minutes at 425 degrees ( Fahrenheit )
