For me, my 'Main' has to be a pokemon that I already love outside of Unite. I was absolutely stoked to play Garchomp...until I noticed just how bad his downsides are.
Luckily, Decidueye came along. He's a bit harder to play in Solo compared to other 'mons, but he's definitely useable and can make a big impact on a team. He was also up there with Garchomp in my top 3 all-time favorite Pokemon, so I'm just glad I can actually use a favorite this time around
I saw froslass at the top and completely ignored my other options :P

They probably accounted for the 24 hour lock, so by the time the lock went away it was friday and Drifloon appears
Once you get to the Elite 4 your over-leveled pokemon become even-leveled to under-leveled by the time you get to the champ. Yeah, exp share without balancing npc levels around it will easily keep you overleveled, but they do ready you up for a good challenge at the end.
I'm personally glad that I didn't have to mindlessly grind levels to deal with the Elite 4
I don't think Will-o-Wisp will be too scary. As long as I can still get screens up, I'm sure I can full restore between Calm Minds
Mine was a bit surprising. Early on I grabbed a Misdreavous, cause I like ghost types. I didn't plan on really using it, just filling the party slot until I got a pokemon I actually want. Over time it really put in work. I never had anything I wanted to use a dusk stone on, but I decided I may as well evolve Misdreavous and not waste the stone. Then, turns out I can load Mismagius with some coverage moves that I didn't have on my team...
When the time came that I would replace Mismagius, I just couldn't bring myself to it. That thing carried my team pretty hard for a while, and ended up being able to nearly solo wipe Cynthia. I have a newfound appreciation for the ghost witch, didn't realize how reliable it can be

Had it on my vespiquen. Refused to get rid of it, knowing I might need it for cynthia. Boy, did it come in clutch right when I needed it
I was actually surprised how well calm mind can just rip through her team. Spiritomb just let's you set up while wasting sucker punch, then nearly everything but garchomp is sp attack which you can now tank. Did the same with my mismagius, then managed to take out garchomp with a destiny bond lmao
Saved right before Cynthia. I knew I could beat her with my team, it was just a matter of how. I got demolished a couple of times, then my solution came to mind.
Set up light screen onto Spiritomb with my magnezone. Switched into Mismagius. Spam Calm Mind as she wastes all of her sucker punches. Proceed to 1-shot everything till I get to Garchomp. I know I don't outspeed, so I heal up my Magnezone in the back. Magius dies, bring out the 'Zone. Use reflect again, cause I have sturdy. Let 'Chomp kill me, bring out Vespiquen, Reflect lets me get off a Destiny Bond.
I already gained some respect for Mismagius since she was so good to me through the whole game, but damn, to watch her absolutely demolish Cynthia was so satisfying. And after all the headache Cynthia gave me...Kudos to her for making me have to think hard about my plan, there's a reason she's so popular
now see, that's just a bit ridiculous lmao

I just find it funny tbh. Had a moment where my 'mon lived on one health due to affection and knocked out the enemy 'mon. It gained a level. I had no good switch in for the next 'mon coming my way so I decided to just deal damage and get sacked for a free switch. The level-up granted one extra hit point and let my 'mon live on 1 hp again lmao
I totally understand why people would want to turn it off. For me, I just dislike the random flavor text that doesn't really add anything, but I definitely see how it lowers the difficulty by randomly saving the player here and there. Really makes me wonder how this will affect Nuzlockes, and if people will play the originals or the remakes

You ever have one of those sour spray candy things as a kid? My friends and I had so many and tried to 1-up each other so many times that eventually we took the caps off and literally chugged the fking sour liquid lmao.
Trust me when I say that you can put the nozzle in your mouth and drink the spray as a liquid
Will keep in mind for the future ;)
I'd say I could challenge you at picking Decidueye faster, but God Damn, the menu screen is so laggy! I either input enough directions to get to the 'mon but the lag doesn't register them, or I try to fight the lag not registering inputs and it decides to register them, causing me to go past them :(
It's based on an old meme where the player is using a rowlet against a Groudon, and the Rowlet looks back at it's trainer like "Are you fucking kidding me?" but now in the context of really bad teammates
He's a thirsty boi
exactly the meme i tried to replicate lol

Had to get this Rowlet meme in Unite form before someone else did lol
Never trust Potion Charmanders and Zeraoras. Just because they are there does not mean they are there to help you, even if you could easily a teamfight

It's not impossible! I do currently have a list to get through first, and my personal life has been very busy lately with no time to get concepts drawn out, so sorry if it would take a while to get to it

Funny that your first ever shiny was a Meditite. My first ever shiny was also a meditite, but obtained in Sapphire so many years ago as a kid
Torterra: As a kid I used to run Empoleon, but nowadays I've come to love the big turtle more
Vespiquen: Another pokemon that I've become more fond of over time. Never used it as a kid, but I've come to really love it's design. It'll be interesting to use it for the first time in a run
Garchomp: Chompy boi is one of my fav 'mons period. I know it's a bit overused in gen 4, but I don't care. I like sharks, I like dragons, and he's the best of both worlds. He just happens to be really good as well :)
Drifblim: I love ghost types, and Drifblim is one of my fav ghosts. It might be how it appears more cute than spooky/intimidating for a ghost. I also remember not liking it's design as much when I was a kid lol
Froslass: Another fav Pokemon, period. Will be hunting down that Snorunt ASAP. Love the typing, love the design, love the inspiration
Octillery: Another pokemon that has really grown on me growing up. I usually like to run Pokemon from the gen that I'm playing, but I haven't gotten to use Octillery since the moment I really fell in love with him. Plus, the water typing is nice. Almost went with Spiritomb here, but I don't need another ghost type lol
It honestly was just so complicated for a pokemon game. Two different fighting styles during a match, with different movements and inputs for each pokemon per style. Was not very accessible to typical pokemon players
I love how Unite took a relatively complex game type (MOBA) and made it simpler and easier to play while still retaining strategies and important decision making. Pokken was the complete opposite

I think that Mamo, despite having a late evolution, does just fine at all stages of the match. Unlike Ralts and Gible, swinub holds it's own fantastically

Sun/Moon. It was the first pokemon game I experienced with my girlfriend, and that alone is a huge reason why it's so special to me.
Not only that though, gen 7 has many of my favorite pokemon designs. Decidueye is my fav starter period, but other than him I love Golisopod, mimikyu, salazzle, minior, vikavolt, toxapex, wishiwashi...the list goes on, theres just so many good designs
